The Experience

A low-slung jeep crunches across sandy tracks as dawn spills light over Wilpattu’s scrub and lakes. Birds scatter; a distant rumble suggests elephant herds moving through the forest. Over two days the landscape shifts from coastal Galle’s colonial lanes to the broad, dry plains of Sri Lanka’s largest national park and then to the stone-paved heart of Anuradhapura, where stupas and sacred fig trees hold centuries of quiet.

Before You Go
