The Experience

The sea opens green and flat as the speedboat peels away from Vila do Abraão, the island’s main harbor. Spray stings your cheeks, the hull hums, and beaches appear one by one—tiny Caxadaço like a secret between cliffs, Parnaioca where a river slips into sand, Aventureiro crowned by the famous fallen coconut, Meros with its clear-water aquarium, and finally Maguariquessaba where the pier attracts shy turtles.

Before You Go

Arrive early and pack light

Space on a shared speedboat is limited—bring a dry bag, towel, ID, and minimal snacks to keep boarding smooth.

Protect against sun and salt

Use reef-safe sunscreen and a wide-brim hat; sun reflects strongly off water so reapply often.

Expect variable currents

Swim near shore and heed guide instructions—river mouths and open channels can have stronger pulls.

Rent or bring a snorkel mask
