The Experience

Early light in Aqaba gives way to a long ribbon of highway and then, abruptly, to stone: the Siq’s narrow slot cuts like a throat through rose-colored sandstone until the Treasury appears — monumental, sun-washed, and impossibly carved. On day one you move through Petra’s carved facades and tombs, the town’s Nabatean walls cooling and warming with passing shadows.

Before You Go
