The Experience

Morning light lifts off the river and the jungle answers with birdsong — you push from the bank in a wooden canoe and the lagoon narrows, water riffling around the hull as a dusky, curious pink dolphin surfaces nearby. Over four days in El Guaviare you move between ancient rock shelters, cave passages and warm waterways, tracking human marks that predate agriculture and meeting wildlife that has adapted to flooded forests.
