The Experience

A cool wind from the Middle Atlas greets the minivan as it climbs out of Fes, pines and cedar needles brushing the window like fingerprints. By midmorning the group is parked in Imouzzer Kandar at 1,350 m, where tidy French-era villas stand beside squat troglodyte homes — human history carved into stone and slope.

Before You Go
