The Experience

Over five days this private loop threads ancient rock citadels, spice groves and the low, tidal labyrinth of the Madu River, moving from the central highlands down to the warm Indian Ocean.

Before You Go

Visit Dambulla and Sigiriya early morning to avoid high temperatures and peak crowds; bring a hat and sunscreen.

Footwear for mixed terrain

Wear closed, grippy shoes for Sigiriya’s staircases and temple grounds; sandals are fine for beach stops but not for rock climbs.

Mosquito protection for mangroves

Carry DEET or picaridin repellent and lightweight long sleeves for the Madu River boat ride and island visits at dusk.
