The Experience

You step off the shuttle into humid air and the sound of water—first, the Blue Hole’s bright turquoise pools calling you in. The swim hole threads through short cascades and small caves; the water pushes at your ankles, daring you to climb the slick rock and slide into hidden plunge pools. Later the rhythm changes at Dunn’s River Falls, where a steady sheet of white water runs in terraces all the way to the sea. Guided groups form human chains and pick a route up the falls, ducking into natural tubs and stepping over moss-slick ledges.

Before You Go

Wear water shoes

Rubber-soled water shoes with good grip are required for climbing and protect toes on sharp rocks.

Use a dry bag

Keep phones, cash, and a spare set of clothes in a small dry bag to prevent water damage and loss.
