The Experience

Morning light slides over the Mediterranean as a small convoy climbs from Beirut toward the Mount Lebanon range, and the limestone of Jeita shows its first edge against the sky. Inside the grotto the air cools; dripping formations hang like frozen rain while a narrow electric boat carries visitors across a subterranean pool.
